ABOUT ME

My academic activity focuses on the development of econometric models, mainly in the fields of research in developing countries and, more specifically, in aspects related to human flows (migration, refugees...) and development linked to energy. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of my expertise, I have frequently participated in projects of different kinds, in the development of econometric (or other) models.
In the field of teaching, I have taught subjects related to the quantitative methods used in economics and business (econometrics, prediction methods, simulation analysis, multivariate statistics...). I have been a guest lecturer at the universities of Paris-Dauphine (Master's in Economics and International Relations) every year since 2005. I am also a professor at the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS). I have been visiting professor at Princeton, Georgetown, Dresden, Southbank, Nancy, Degli Studi de Firenze...).
In the field of management, I have been director of the MERIGG-UAM master's degree (2011-2014), director of the departmental section of Econometrics (Applied Economics) (2008-2011), tutor of the double degree agreement UAM-Dauphine (1999-2015) and academic secretary of the Lawrence R. Klein Institute for Economic Prediction (2004-2008).
In the field of private enterprise, I am co-founder of the demoscopic SMART-QUEST S.L., start-up co-participated by the UAM, in addition to participating in AGREEM. I have participated in many knowledge transfer courses under the umbrella of IBM and in various companies such as Endesa, Enagas, Ibermutuamur, Iberdrola, Sanitas, CONSUM.
